Stephen has extensive experience and a proven track record of success in strategy and brand platform development, including brand identity, value proposition, and positioning formulation. For over twenty-five years he has led the strategy and planning efforts of communications and media programs. He has conducted market research, written strategy briefs, and conceived communications planning for dozens of institutions.

Beginning his career in public relations and public affairs, and later in advertising agencies and brand development firms, Stephen has led strategy development and organizational planning for traditional and digital enterprises. He has designed and crafted compelling strategic platforms, identity positioning, and experiential frameworks for clients and companies across a spectrum of industry, non-profit, and academic institutions.

As the founder and principal of Black Swan Collaborative, Stephen recruits and manages a dynamic network of specialists, marshaling shared purpose and coordinating expertise. He works closely with institutions and organizations to amplify brand identity and expand brand awareness and connection impact. The collective goal is the creation of powerful stories and multi-dimensional brand experiences for strategic advantage across promotional, social, mobile, and data-driven platforms.
